Waylaid Crates and Merchant's Favor in WoW: Forever

How Forever's supply factions work: loot a Waylaid Crate, stock it with one bundle of trade goods, hand it in for Merchant's Favor. Every crate and its bundles from Forever's files, and every recipe the Horde's quartermasters sell, from our own play.

The short answer

World of Warcraft: Forever brings two supply factions over from Season of Discovery, as Wowhead reports: Durotar Supply and Logistics for the Horde, the Azeroth Commerce Authority for the Alliance. Loot a Waylaid Crate, stock it with one bundle of the trade goods it lists, and hand it in for Merchant’s Favor, their currency: 5 a crate, as a player reports Community Blizzard forums. Forever’s files hold 30 kinds of crate in four tiers, from level 10 to level 35, asking for 96 trade goods between them.

How it works

  1. Find a crate. Our own play looted three in the Barrens, from a Sunscale Scytheclaw, a Venture Co. Overseer and a Razormane Berserker. Players find them rare from enemies, especially before the mid-teens, and have seen one drop in a dungeon Community Blizzard forums; chests give them more often Community Blizzard forums.
  2. Read its label. The files also hold a plain Waylaid Crate, whose Read Label we expect to turn it into one of the 30 crates below; the game’s servers choose which, and the files hold neither the list nor the odds.
  3. Stock it. Each crate below has a Stock Crate that fills it with any one bundle from its list; Waylaid Crate: Apprentice Herbs takes 20 Peacebloom, 20 Silverleaf, 10 Earthroot, 10 Mageroyal or 10 Briarthorn. A player reports being paid 4 silver 80 copper for stocking 20 Strange Dust, far below their auction price Community Blizzard forums.
  4. Hand it in to your faction’s Inventory Intake: Dokimi for the Horde, near its quartermasters in the Barrens, and Marcy Baker for the Alliance, at Three Corners in Redridge Mountains Community Warcraft Tavern. The first crate also starts a one-time quest: the quest adds 2,000 reputation, the crates none Community Blizzard forums, and a player reports 5 Merchant’s Favor for one crate and 50 for the quest Community Blizzard forums. Forever’s files add a Performance Bonus, a 15% chance of double Merchant’s Favor, and the Forged Delivery Receipt, which returns an empty Waylaid Crate to your faction for 50 reputation.

Horde and Alliance

Both sides use the same crates and currency: Forever’s files give the crates no faction or class requirement, and call Merchant’s Favor an interim currency members of either faction would trade for. Each faction has its own tabard in the files, the Durotar Supply and Logistics Tabard and the Azeroth Commerce Authority Tabard.

  • Horde: the seven quartermasters of Durotar Supply and Logistics stand together in the Barrens, near 50, 30 on the zone map, one each for Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Cooking, Enchanting, Engineering, Leatherworking and Tailoring.
  • Alliance: the Azeroth Commerce Authority’s market at Three Corners in Redridge Mountains Community Warcraft Tavern, where players report an outpost of profession vendors Community Blizzard forums. We have not seen their lists; the recipes carry no faction in Forever’s files, so they may well match the Horde’s.

The goods the crates take

Today’s crates ask for 96 trade goods. Forever’s files sort the goods into ten brackets, which we number in the files’ order: 1 to 5 raw materials, 6 to 10 mostly crafted ones.

Rewards

Our latest visits to the Horde’s seven quartermasters found 314 offers, from 30 to 1,000 Merchant’s Favor: 309 recipes for 30 to 360 Merchant’s Favor, and a Certification for five of the six crafting professions at 1,000. 136 need no standing, 83 need Friendly and 95 need Honored with Durotar Supply and Logistics. On 2026-10-07, at build 70245, Apothecary Durelle did not list the Alchemy Certification or Recipe: Potion of Venomous Blood, which she sold on 2026-10-01; Forever’s files still hold the Alchemy Certification. Every recipe needs its profession’s skill. A Certification needs the profession at 300 and unlocks its title, such as “the Blacksmith”, for every character on your account; a character shows it at 300 in the profession, as Forever’s files describe it. Merchant’s Favor has no cap in the files.

Wowhead also reports toys, cosmetics and the Alliance’s Reins of the Pack Kodo for 6,000 Merchant’s Favor (our news), which the Horde’s recipe quartermasters do not sell. At the Alliance’s market, its Supply Officer Tamelyn Aldridge sells supply packs of random profession materials and an Advertising License Application for Merchant’s Favor Community Warcraft Tavern.

A shipment you loot in the world with some of its supplies missing. Stock it with any one bundle of trade goods from its list and hand it in for Merchant's Favor. The Horde and the Alliance use the same crates.
