Dungeon quests in the October 1 beta build pay less. They used to give extra experience on top of a normal quest’s reward, and that extra is now cut by 50%. Blizzard ties the change to testers’ feedback on leveling speed, and says some other quest rewards were recalibrated too.

The same build speeds up respawns for many creatures and objects in Hillsbrad Foothills, Ashenvale, Wetlands, Duskwood and Thousand Needles. Redridge Mountains and Stonetalon Mountains had their turn in an earlier build. Blizzard asks players to keep reporting areas where quests are hard to finish. Escort quests can now be started with 25 or more quests in the log.

This touches quest rewards only. The experience needed to level still matches Classic, as Blizzard clarified on September 21.

Why it matters: dungeon quests still pay more than a normal quest, but only half as much more as before.
