How camping works: campfires and profession camp features
A Basic Campfire holds up to three camp features from nearby players. Sit a minute to get their buffs.

Blizzard’s camping article explains how the system works. Cooking’s Cooking Fire becomes a Basic Campfire, which makes a shared campsite. Up to three nearby players can each add one camp feature made by their profession. Anyone who sits or crafts at the camp for at least a minute gets the other features’ benefits. Later campfires hold five or ten features.
Each profession’s first camp feature needs skill 20, from a starter-zone quest or the trainer. Those of skill 140 and up drop in dungeons and raids. All camp features need a campfire nearby and share a one-hour cooldown. Their buffs are versions of class buffs and don’t stack with them:
| Profession | Feature | Effect | Doesn’t stack with |
|---|---|---|---|
| First Aid | First Aid Kit | Stamina | Power Word: Fortitude |
| Fishing | Fishing Bowl | 8% to all stats | Blessing of Kings |
| Alchemy | Mana Well | Mana every 5 seconds | Blessing of Wisdom |
| Blacksmithing | Sharpening Wheel | Strength | Strength of Earth Totem |
| Enchanting | Enchanted Lute | Armor, stats and resistances | Mark of the Wild |
| Herbalism | Incense Candle | Intellect | Arcane Intellect |
| Skinning | Camp Chair | 2% critical strike chance | Moonkin Aura |
| Tailoring | Faction Banner | Spirit, for your faction | Divine Spirit |
| Leatherworking | Camp Tent | Rested experience, 5% of a level | |
| Engineering | Reagent Bot | Sells reagents |
Most buffs scale with level. On a PvP ruleset, a camp can draw enemy players.
Why it matters: a full camp can give a group several class-style buffs without the classes, as long as everyone sits down for a minute first.
