Auto Shot and wands now need you to stand still
Wands and Auto Shot wait for half a second of standing still. Hunters get a second trap.

In the October 15 beta build, wands and Hunters’ Auto Shot fire only after you have stood still for 0.5 seconds, as in early World of Warcraft. Auto Shot still fires while you cast Aimed Shot or Sniper Shot. A new Auto Attack/Auto Shot setting, which also works on gamepad, switches Hunters between melee and ranged attacks automatically.
Other Hunter changes:
- Traps: Fire traps now scale with Attack Power, and you can have one Fire Trap and one Ice Trap out at once (it was one trap of any kind).
- Pets: pets now benefit from Expertise and inherit the higher of your melee or ranged crit chance. Crocolisk’s Dismember reduces healing by 25% (was 50%) for 6 seconds (was 10), on a 15-second cooldown (was 6). Bat’s Sonic Blast slows casting by 30% (was 60%) for 20 seconds (was 30), on a 60-second cooldown (was 30). Bird of Prey’s Mine! lasts 3 seconds (was 4) on a 90-second cooldown (was 60).
- Beast Mastery: Summon Hawk now spawns the Hawk at its target and keeps it on that target. Improved Mend Pet now lowers Mend Pet’s mana cost instead of raising it.
- Marksmanship: Trueshot Aura is now raid-wide, and Sniper Shot now benefits from the Marksmanship talents it was missing.
- Survival: Strider Kick works while disarmed or with no main-hand weapon. Resourcefulness now lowers its mana cost and triggers on critical strikes from melee and ranged abilities only, not traps.
Arrows now also show when your bow is drawn.
Why it matters: kiting with Auto Shot or wanding on the move gets harder, while Hunters gain a second trap and lose some of their pets’ utility.
