No class spec should feel unplayable in Forever
Forever's class design avoids homogenization: distinct identities, and no spec meant to feel useless.

In a post-beta interview with Inven Global alongside Holly Longdale, Blizzard’s Clay Stone talked about Forever’s approach to class design: keep every class feeling like its own thing, rather than letting them blur together. That distinctness is what matters most, he said, and every spec should have some reason to exist, even if it isn’t the top pick for every fight.
He also explained what “horizontal” means for Forever: expanding the world sideways with new zones, dungeons, raids, quests and professions, rather than keeping gear itself flat. Gear power will still rise with each new raid tier, but Blizzard wants that jump kept as small as possible, so best-in-slot items from an earlier tier can stay in use for a long time; whether gear progression gets a soft reset is still too early to say.
Why it matters: Blizzard is promising every class a reason to exist, while admitting gear power will keep rising as Forever’s raids continue.
