Dungeon maps probably aren't coming to Forever

Senior Game Designer Jay Hartman addressed dungeon maps on episode 3 of the WoW: Forever podcast, and said the feature probably isn’t coming. He said a map would let players find the shortest route through a dungeon and steer around everything else, working against the sense of exploration and threat the team wants dungeons to have: “If you have a dungeon map, people find the shortest route possible.”

He said the team wants players to explore a dungeon’s nooks and crannies rather than racing the fastest way through, and called that a good reason maps probably won’t be added.

Why it matters: if you’re hoping for a built-in map for Forever’s dungeons, don’t count on one.
