Dungeon kills get 20% more XP and an XP bug fix
A bug shorted low-level players' XP in mixed dungeon groups. A fix goes in with 20% more kill XP.

On episode 3 of the WoW: Forever podcast, Senior Game Designer Josh “Aggrend” Greenfield said dungeon kill experience is going up 20%, then followed up on the forums about a bug fix going in alongside it. In earlier beta builds, XP from a dungeon kill was worked out from the highest-level player in the group, so a lower-level player in a mixed party earned very little per kill. His example was Deadmines with four level 20s and one level 25. With the fix, each player should earn XP by their own level against the mob’s, as intended.
Senior Game Designer Rowan Ryder, on the same episode, said the team doesn’t necessarily want a dungeon to be a one-and-done stop, and is still tuning dungeon XP based on beta feedback.
Aggrend said the fix plus the 20% increase should make dungeon leveling feel significantly better, though still not as fast as in Classic Era. With perfect play, dungeon leveling should now come very close to optimal questing speed, or match it. That is deliberate, so that cleaving dungeons to 60 doesn’t become the clear best way to level, and he tied it to two of Forever’s pillars, “World is the Main Character” and “Nurture and Protect Social Experiences”.
Why it matters: if you level by running dungeons, kills should pay better, and a lower-level player in a mixed group should no longer be shorted.
