Forever’s client files give two old dungeon drops a profession bonus. Worn, Smelting Pants cut the crafting time of Smelt Copper, Smelt Tin, Smelt Bronze and Smelt Silver by 25%, all Mining recipes, and our beta cache shows the pants raised from uncommon to rare. Equipped, the rare wand Cookie’s Stirring Rod makes Cooking 25% faster, a bonus new in our copy of build 1.60.1.70170. In Classic, Gilnid drops the pants and Cookie the wand, in the Deadmines.

Forever also adds the Arcanite Blacksmith Hammer, a rare thrown weapon of item level 54 that binds when picked up and needs level 49 and Blacksmithing 270. Its text says it works as a Blacksmith Hammer, and it has the old hammer’s tool category. A hit can stun for 1 second with Cracked Skull, at a chance our files don’t give. The recipe takes 4 Dark Iron Bars, an Arcanite Bar and a Blue Sapphire.

Our files can’t show where the pants and the wand drop in Forever, or how often.

Why it matters: if the files hold, miners and cooks get gear that speeds up their crafting, and blacksmiths can smith with a thrown weapon in place of the old hammer.
