Kaivax posted more Warrior changes for the October 1 beta build after the first round. Critical strikes now generate 100% more Rage instead of 75%. Dual Wield Specialization loses its off-hand hit bonus, which a bug had also been giving the main hand.
Fury loses Boundless Rage and Improved Cleave and gains three talents. Lingering Rage delays Rage decay after combat by up to 10 seconds, Furious Precision adds up to 10% off-hand hit, and Gore Drinker, behind Enrage, makes the next 3 melee attacks after Enrage, Berserker Rage, Bloodrage, Death Wish or Bloodthirst heal up to 1% of maximum health each. Raging Blows now cuts the Rage cost of Cleave and Whirlwind by 3, and Whirlwind always strikes with both weapons. Flurry now requires Death Wish rather than Enrage. Berserker Rage arrives at level 30, not 32, and Bloodthirst’s Attack Power ratio rises from 35% to 45%.
Protection is reshuffled so Warriors without a shield can reach the middle of the tree, where Blizzard says it could serve as a PvP secondary spec. Iron Will moves in from Fury and joins Improved Bloodrage in row 1, Anticipation drops to row 2, Improved Revenge, Improved Disarm and Improved Shield Bash each rise a row, and Toughness is gone.
Why it matters: Fury gets real choices early in the tree instead of points spent on Enrage, and Warriors who skip a shield get an easier path into Protection.
