Disengage drops twice the threat in the latest beta files

Our own comparison of Forever’s client files, build 1.60.1.70124 against 1.60.1.70170, turns up changes that Blizzard’s October 1 notes don’t mention.

Disengage. The Hunter ability’s threat value doubles on every rank: 140, 280 and 405 become 280, 560 and 810.

Furious Howl. The Hunter pet ability’s values fall by about 40% on every rank, which matches the cut Blizzard announced on September 24. The files only show it now.

Crafted gear. Nine Blacksmithing pieces, such as the Bronze Greatsword, and the Leatherworking Green Leather Armor are now Bind on Equip. Green Leather Armor used to be Bind on Pickup; the others had no binding.

Items. The Windcharged Leaf is now the Idol of Shifting Tides and the Windcarved Effigy the Totem of Charged Flames, both raised to uncommon. The Scholarly Pendant and Erudite’s Amulet drop from rare to uncommon and from item level 25 to 23, and three Leafre’s rings left the files.

These are client values. The server decides what happens in play, so treat them as datamined until Blizzard or our own play confirms them.

Wowhead reports that the two necklaces are the reward from Friend of the Library, a quest players receive after handing in 10 books to their faction’s librarian, and that players noticed the change in play. Community Wowhead

Why it matters: if the server agrees, Disengage sheds twice the threat it did, and those crafted pieces bind to whoever first wears them.
