Blizzard will act against gold buyers in Forever
Blizzard will increasingly remove bought gold and act on buyers' accounts, and warns about suspicious gifts.

Replying to a forum thread about gold buying in the World of Warcraft: Forever beta, Blizzard’s Kaivax restated that trading real money for gold is against the rules. Blizzard is acting on it in the beta, he said, and will keep doing so once Forever launches.
What changes is who faces action. Blizzard says it has always moved quickly against sellers’ accounts, and will increasingly act against buyers as well: taking the gold back, and possibly more, up to closing accounts.
Kaivax also warned about gifts. Be careful accepting gold from strangers or in trades that only go one way: a player who knew, or should have known, that the gold was not legitimate may face account action too.
Why it matters: in Forever, taking bought or suspicious gold puts your own account at risk, not just the seller’s.
