The September 24 beta build tunes several class abilities upward. Druid’s Wrath gets roughly a 50% increase to its base damage, and Thorns now scales dynamically with the caster’s spell power instead of using fixed values.

Shaman’s Lava Burst ranks 1 and 2 now deal about 10% more base damage than the Lightning Bolt rank learned around the same level, and Lightning Bolt’s ranks 3 and 4 hit harder so each rank is an upgrade.

Paladin’s Holy Strike now deals 25% of weapon damage at rank 1 rising to 50% at rank 8 (was 25% to 40%). Its cooldown drops to 10 seconds from 12 for every Paladin: Blizzard removed Improved Holy Strike, the Holy talent that shortened it, and made its effect baseline.

Why it matters: Blizzard’s note on Holy Strike says the goal is leveling, where early ranks didn’t always feel like an upgrade.
