Fix for EU beta lag rolls out

Blizzard posted an update on the EU forums addressing the high latency that some testers in the region experienced during the first days of the World of Warcraft: Forever beta. Some players had been using VPNs to work around it, which Blizzard called not a viable long-term fix.

Blizzard said its engineers identified routing issues within its control and, over the prior 24 hours, implemented changes to streamline how EU traffic reaches the beta servers. The company cautioned that some players may still see routing problems caused by their own ISP or by software like firewalls, which are outside its control, and said it will keep monitoring EU performance closely.

Why it matters: EU testers who struggled to connect or move smoothly in the beta’s early days should see improved performance going forward, though individual ISP issues can still occur.
