The Alliance gets its own Ragefire Chasm

Lead Game Designer Tim Jones and Lead Software Engineer Nora Mills told Game Informer at BlizzCon that the Hall of Thanes, one of Forever’s nine new dungeons, was designed as a sister dungeon to Ragefire Chasm: Blizzard already confirmed it sits beneath Ironforge and covers levels 13-18, the same low-level slot Ragefire Chasm fills for the Horde.

The pair also talked about designing new content for a point in Azeroth’s timeline players haven’t experienced, name-checking Hyjal — a zone players last saw played out in Warcraft III, long before its Cataclysm appearance — as an example of that approach. They framed the team’s guiding idea as “journey before destination”: with the level cap fixed at 60, players can level at whatever pace suits them without the game moving past them.

Why it matters: Hall of Thanes gives Alliance players their own early Ironforge-area dungeon in the same leveling slot Horde players already have in Ragefire Chasm.
