How much mounts cost in Forever

Senior Game Designer Michael Nuthals and Principal Game Designer Kris Zierhut told Sportskeeda how mount costs work in World of Warcraft: Forever. Rather than charging gold for the mount itself, the cost sits on training: learning a mount skill costs either 100 or 1,000 gold depending on the skill’s level. Every player gets their first mount for free.

The pair said they see an aspirational gold cost as a good thing, and pointed to costs like this as a useful gold sink for the game’s economy. They also confirmed WoW: Forever runs on a timeline adjacent to the original 2004 WoW launch, diverging from it on that first day, and placing the game a couple of years after the events of Warcraft III.

Why it matters: budget for training costs rather than for buying the mount itself, and expect your very first mount to be free.
