Molten Core is on hold

Blizzard told The Sun that Forever’s world starts from the same canonical starting line as original World of Warcraft in November 2004, and that the game will keep evolving from there indefinitely — a future update might add a new raid or a new area, with something aimed at different kinds of players rather than raiders alone each time.

Asked directly about Molten Core, Blizzard’s answer was that it stays closed for the time being and will return at some later point. The reasoning given: players have already run Molten Core many times across the different versions of the game, so Forever is starting with something new instead and can explore stories that might have happened in this timeline.

Why it matters: anyone expecting a fast return to Molten Core at launch should plan around Barrow Deeps and Hyjal Summit instead — Blizzard is treating the original raid as something to revisit later, not a launch fixture.
