Wowhead’s Destin interviewed Blizzard’s Clay Stone (Associate Production Director) and Nora Mills (Lead Software Engineer) about WoW: Forever at BlizzCon 2026. Asked about catch-up mechanics, Blizzard said there are no plans for anything like a WoW Token or a character boost — the journey through the game is meant to stay the point, not something to skip.
On beta: it opens with a level 20 cap, to be raised to 30 later in the beta; Blizzard did not say when. Everyone starts over at level 1 at launch.
Looking past launch, Blizzard said Forever is expanding horizontally rather than moving past Azeroth — for now that means Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor, including zones that existed in the client but were never finished or used, plus areas players have long imagined as fitting Classic+.
Why it matters: with no token or boost currently planned, Forever’s economy stays journey-first for now, and the beta’s level 20-to-30 ramp gives an early read on how much content will be ready to test.
