Camping: a new outdoor system for shared campfires and buffs

Forever adds a new social system alongside Legacy: Camping. Blizzard’s recap of the What’s Next panel describes it as a way to set up a campfire anywhere in the world; other players who come across it can join in, pitch in a bit of their own profession work, and walk away with a buff shared by everyone at the site.

Blizzard did not give further mechanical detail: how long a campfire lasts, which professions can contribute, or the size of the buff are all unstated for now.

Why it matters: it is a small piece of the panel’s stated goal of protecting the game’s social experiences, giving strangers on the road a reason to stop and interact rather than pass each other by.
