New sea routes link the continents, and Riverglades gets a named port

Blizzard's Found Photos panel added three new ship routes, two linking the continents and a third to the Riverglades, and named the zone's port, Powderfuse Port, along with its factions.

Blizzard’s Found Photos panel added detail to the zones named at the What’s Next panel. Three new ship routes were named. Two join the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor: Stormwind Harbor to Auberdine, and a second line running Menethil, Southshore and Auberdine for more flexible leveling routes. A third starts at Steamwheedle Port, the Steamwheedle Cartel’s outpost in Tanaris, and points toward the Riverglades.

The Riverglades’ port is named Powderfuse Port, home to the new Powderfuse goblins alongside the Twilight’s Hammer and the Brotherhood of the Horse. Blizzard describes the zone as roughly the size of Stranglethorn Vale, with gnoll camps and ogre threats tying it into the surrounding regions, and put its quest count at nearly 200 — Blizzard’s earlier What’s Next recap had said “more than 150.”

Why it matters: the new sea lanes make the Riverglades reachable without a long overland trek, and the named factions give the zone people to quest for, not just a place to level in.

Tracked on everything we know.
